Wat gebeurt er als je niets te doen hebt.... (afgezien van kinderen halen en brengen, verzorgen, huishouden)?
Je plukt wat witte frambozen uit de moestuin, je naait een jurk voor je dochter, je breit verder aan de kantsjaal in Entrelac patroon met alle kantjes die je maar kan vinden, of je gaat alvast een paar lange sokken breien op je nieuwe bamboo naaldjes om te kijken of je snelgenoeg bent voor de sockwars. Ze zijn voor mijn zoon, die zit altijd te bibberen.

What happens if you have no life.... (besides from feeding and hauling children, caring, domestic things dó go on...)? You go to the vegetable garden and pick some white raspberries, you sow a little dress for your daughter, keep on knitting on the Entrelac shawl with all the lace patterns you can find, or try swatching for the up and comming Sockwars to see how fast you can knit a pair on your brandnew bamboo knittingsticks. These are for my son, some kneesocks, because he's always shivering....

Weer wat nieuws

Tja, als kantbreien zo leuk is, ga je dus gewoon verder. Ik was van plan om te beginnen aan Forest Path Stole te beginnen, maar ik wil niet meteen aan een lap beginnen. Dus voorzichtig een entrelac opgezet en zelf een ontwerp gemaakt. Ik garandeer niet dat het super word, het wordt een beetje uitproberen wat er allemaal in zo'n vakje past. Ik heb het al een keer uitgehaald... Well, if Laceknitting is so much fun, you just continue. I was planning on knitting the Forest Path Stole, but I didn't want to be in over my head. So I started with Entrelac and my own design. I don't give any garantees, just a little swatching, trying to see what fits into a little square. I frogged it once already...

Entrelac sok is af.

Mijn entrelac sok, uit de HzG 139 is af! Eentje maar hoor, maar toch. Ik was er al bijna klaar mee, maar hij bleef de hele tijd maar liggen.

Hij lijkt enorm, maar ja, ik heb wel maatje 42... Hij past goed, en is lekker warm. Thanx voor Yvon, dank zij jouw beschrijving is het toch helemaal goed gekomen.

My entrelac sock from HzG 139 is finished!!!! Just the one. It lay around for a while, eventhough it was almost done. It looks huge, it issss. I'm a full 8 almost 9. It fits beautifully and is nice and warm. Thanx alot for Yvon, for her description in the magazine. It all worked out beautifully.

Nou, eigenlijk dan maar meteen een paar foto's van dingen die ik gemaakt heb, en waar ik mee bezig ben. Ik ben meestal met zo'n drie of vier dingen tegelijk bezig. Zodat ik het breiwerk aan mijn stemming kan aanpassen.
Ik leerde van internet hoe ik de Entrelac of Lady Elenor kon breien, en na veel uithalen en oefenen kreeg ik het toch in de vingers. Deze versie in gewoon katoen, en de kleurblokjes in sokkenwol, grijs en blauw.

Well, I'll start with some pictures of what I've made so far, and what I'm up to. Most of the time I have a couple of things I'm working on, depending on the mood I'm in.
Learning from the Internet, I tried and succeded to make a test panel of Lady Elenor or Entrelac. This is in cotton, with sockyarn in grey and blue.

Dit zijn de sokjes die ik breide voor mijn dochter, Bridget. Ze vind ze erg leuk omdat ze zo glad zijn op de vloer. Op de trap is het niet handig. Ik heb geen hielkapje, maar met verkorte pennen gebreid.

These are the socks I knitted for my daughter Bridget. She likes them, because she can slip on the polished floor with them. On the stairs they're very dangerous, though.

Dit is het project waar ik nu aan werk. Een beige kleurige kerstman. Dit is de muts, het lijfje is erg lang en smal. Er zit een ecru sjaal bij, in patentsteek, pen 5. Het mutsje is in pen 2, 45 steken rond, en iedere 2e naald 2 samenbreien (2x). Tot de laatste 3 steken, en dan een topje breien.
This is the project I'm working on now. It will be a beige Santa. This is his hat, the body is long an slim. There will be a creme coloured scarf to go with it. I'm not yet very much into the knitting lingo, but I started with 45 stitches, and every second time around, knitted 2 tog. Until there are 3 st. left to make the top.



Dit is de jas voor de kerstman. Met 100 st. begonnen, en iedere 2o e naald 4x 1 st minderen. Na ongeveer 130 naalden splitsen om de voor en achterkant te breien. Voorkant in V halsje, achter recht afgekant. Voor de mouwen 3 st. afgekant.
Ik heb hier de Katia Mississippi 3 gebruikt, naald 2,5.

This is Santa's coat. I started with app. 100 st. and decreased every 20 nld. 4 times 1 st. After 130 needles split in two for front and back. Front in a V shape, back all at once. For the shape of the sleeves I decreased 3 st. A bit of wood with pins or spikes in a round shape.
For this coat I used Katia Mississippi 3.
