What's the last book you read that you thought was really super, inspiring, you'd recommend it to most anyone?
*A gathering of lace.... truely.

What food totally grosses you out, you'd never be able to touch it? Ew. Gag. *hurl*

Did you ever watch a scary movie that frightened you so much you were afraid of the dark afterward? I mean like you're lying in bed trying to sleep, but you have to pee, but you're scared to get up. It doesn't have to be recently; could be when you were a kid. So what movie was it?

Ik wil eigenlijk IEDEREEN bedanken voor het regelmatig bezoeken van mijn blog.
Er zijn al zo'n 15.000 bezoekers / pagehits genoteerd. En dat is nog maar van een jaar of zo.

Het is eigenlijk best een fijn gevoel om iets af te maken. Soms door alle werken op de pennen vergeet je dat wel eens. Wel enthousiast aan dingen beginnen en afmaken... ho maar.
Ik heb weer eens iets afgemaakt, en dat is best mooi geworden. Kijk maar!It's a good feeling to finish things. With all the things on the needles, starting with great spirits, I'm loosing track off the finish line. Well, there's something finished now, and it turned out pretty good. Take a look!

Het is een mooie blije dag vandaag: onze oudste zoon CHRIS is vandaag 13 geworden! Ongelooflijk. Meeste mensen weten vaak wel dat we sowieso 2 kinderen hebben ( Sean en Bridget) en schrikken soms dat we ook nog zo'n grote rakker hebben rondlopen. Hij wil vaak niet mee op uitjes of gewone dingen. stel je voor zeg, als puber op stap met je mama (die ook nog breit!!!).
Dit is 'm dus, in al zijn grootheid. Natuurlijk wilde hij wat blingbling voor zijn verjaardag. (sst: om de aandacht af te leiden van zijn beugel, hahahaha).
In ieder geval: Chris, een fijne verjaardag en een lang gelukkig leven. We houden van je.

Unbelieveable to have such a big son. Time flies....
Well, most people know we have 2 kids, Chris often doesn't like to come along on outings and things. And he most certainly doesn't like to do things with his knitting-mother.... imagne thát.
Anyway, here he is. In all his glory. Of course he wanted some bling for his birthday. So everyone won't notice his braces. hahahahaaha.
Congratulations, my son, I hope you have a happy life, we love ya!

Slaughtered...

Ik ben af. De sokkenoorlog is voor mij alweer voorbij. Vorig jaar had ik meer kans, maar nu met een spoedpakketje uit CANADA! was het gauw gebeurd. Dank je wel Freda, ik ga ze trots dragen! De sokken zijn errug mooi, (bovenste en onderste foto) maar nèt 1 dag te laat... Ik heb mijn sokken (foto midden) gisteren al opgestuurd naar mijn slachtoffer! Die krijgt ze dus dinsdag of woensdag in de post (Californie! USA) en dan is zij ook af. Het is een zachte dood....
Nu weer terug naar de dagelijkse taken. Het babybroekje is bijna af, nog anderhalve mouw en het kraagje en dan kan het babypakje met de post naar een blije eigenaar, die het vervolgens weer aan een trotse mama kan geven. Iedereen weer blij...
I'm dead. Sockwars 3 is over for me. Last year went much better, but with expressmail from CANADA I hadn't a chance. The socks are very pretty! Thank you Freda! I will wear them proud! Pictures top and below. They are a day late though, I just send MY socks (middle) in the mail yesterday. So my victim will die a soft and beautifull Fassett death, sometime next week.
Now, back to the daily routine. The babyset (drops) is almost finished. One and a half sleeve, one leg of the trousers, and a collar. Then I can send it in the mail to my the owner, who can then give it to a proud mommy. everybody happy...

Mijn shawl is af. Scarf with striped border from Weldon's Volume 5, 1890.

Net geblocked. De draad is wat zachter, maar niet soepel. De kleuren zijn op de foto te donker, in het echt is het veel mooier.
Ik kan volgens mij ook nog zeggen dat ie foutloos is.

Just blocked it, the yarn became a little softer, but not much. Colours in the pic are a bit dark, but in real life much better.
I believe I can say it's flawless....

Ik ben er effe niet. Sockwars begint vandaag en ik moet ook nog werken. Dat is een vertraging van ongeveer 3 uur! Bah.
Wat niet bah is, is de munitie die ik heb gekocht via Ebay / Het spinnewiel: Kaffe Fassett Sokkenwol. Ben erg benieuwd of ik net zo snel ben als vorig jaar....

Go away, I'm busy. Sockwars is starting today, but I'm also running my snailmailjob. So that's a delay by some 3 hours... yuck.

What's not yuck is my ammo: Kaffe Fassett Sockyarn. Curious to see if I'm as quick as last year....

Er is weer een sjaal af; uit Victorian Lace Today, de sjaal met de gestreepte rand door Weldon's. In zijde met nog iets... De foto is het begin, droog geblockt.

Also, I've finished another Lace Shawl. From Victorian Lace Today, the Scarf with the striped border by Weldon's, Volume 5, 1890. I've used Silk mixed with something else... got the yarn without information... Picture is the beginning dry blocked.

Add: The yarn is so beautiful, I can hardly give it away! But; good news: first sock IS finished. Victim: be afraid, very afraid. . .

Ja, ik heb het wéér gedaan. Géén proeflapje gedaan, en dus was het te groot. Deze moet dus overnieuw.

Couldn't resist the new MALABRIGO LACE in Azul Profundo. Thinking about what to make with this...

Ik heb nog een extra streng Malabrigo Azul gekocht, en ik ga meedoen in Juni met de Goddess Knits KAL. Het is een ronde sjaal in kantpatroon. Begint op 14 juni, inschrijving tot eind mei.

I bought another skein of Malabrigo Azul, to use in the Goddess Knits KAL, starting 14th of June. It's a circular lace shawl, sign ups till the end of May.
