Almost done...

 It's 2024.

Time flies, also when it's hard work to get through the year. Family is taking up a lot of time, in more ways than one. My dad isn't doing so well, so I've been back up caregiver since November last year.

Worrying about my parents, left little room for knitting.

Spending time with our own kids and grandkids was great and re-energized us.

I've got a couple of projects on the needles, one of them is a new Hap design.

Knitting with 100% cashmere should not be that difficult after some very intricately knit gossamer shawls. But I managed to have it breaking after I've knit a whole new row.

Rather than undoing all my 400 stitches, I undid 13 stitches on either side of the breakage. Let the ends hang, picked a new strand (centre pulled) and reknit the 26 stitches.

Then continued with the working strand.

I'll be leaving the strands like that until the shawl is completely done, washed and dressed.

Sneak peek?

I've got a nice edge in mind. But that's for later. This is only half the border. (1 and 2). The other two borders need to be knit too.

I did manage to prepare and test knit a new bauble for this year.

It does need a little tweak, and hoping to have it complete by early November.

The set up is similar to all the other baubles I've designed. Lucky Star and Wâld (2023), Ocean, Boom, A Lace Bauble.

It's becoming a nice tradition.

I'm working on getting nice pictures of Bloesem too. Then that will be released and ready for publication too. (In the end, I didn't use the blue. For the 70s vibe I was going for, it didn't fit in.

Bloesem is knit on 3,75mm /US5 needles. And ended up being almost 3m wide! Fortunately,  the pattern is size adjustable. No worries.

So, it wasn't too bad, I still had time to keep knitting and designing.

Lots of plans for next year too!

Have A Fine Knit!
