Lente

Na een bezoekje aan haar site, met al die bloemenfoto's er op, kan ik eigenlijk niet achter blijven. Het is tenslotte mijn vak, de tuin, en ik zit dus regelmatig te klikken om mooie plaatjes te krijgen. Die kan ik vervolgens dan op mijn website zetten. Gister heb ik namelijk een boomblauwtje gezien in mijn tuin. Die kan je dan op deze site aanmelden, zodat ze een idee hebben hoe de vlinderstand is. Ik probeer dus ook veel insecten, bijen, vogels, vlinders en vooral libellen naar mijn tuin te halen. De kids zijn daar niet altijd blij mee, vooral mijn middelste is panisch voor bijen. Eerst maar eens een leuk plaatje.

After a visite to her site, with all those beautiful pictures of springflowers, I couldn't stay behind. It's what I do for a living. I can put my pictures on my website.

Yesterday I was in the garden and spotted a butterfly, in our country, called: Boomblauwtje. There is a local website where you can report a spotted butterfly so they can keep an eye on the population. I try to attract as many insects, bugs, butterflies and dragonflies to my garden, eventhough my children aren't to happy about that. So let's take a look at a pretty picture.

Sampler M en CM

Zo, eerst maar weer eens bijpraten. Als het heel erg warm is, komt er van breien toch niet zo veel. Gisteravond kon ik echter niet meer stoppen en heb ik een heel flink stuk aan mijn Sampler M gebreid. Ik heb er wel 3 af gekregen. Aangezien ik ook al een tijdje geen foto's gemaakt heb, volgen er nu een paar. Eerst dus nog 2 samples, Clivia en wyber:
Let's talk shop. When it's warm, knitting is not the first thing on my mind. Yesterday evening I couldn't stop though. I finished three samples. And because I didn't photographed my 'accomplishments' here's a series.

Eigenlijk moeten ze andersom. De eerste foto zit onder de 2e foto op de breilap. Foto 2 laat 6 verschillende samples zien, van boven naar onder: gedraaide eik, wyber groot, kubussen (lukte niet goed dus niet volledig afgemaakt), wyber klein, ritsen 2 en Rockefeller.
For the statistics they should be the otherway around, photo 1 is beneath photo 2 on the Sampler.

Omdat ik het ook wel leuk vind om netjes te wachten op elke week een nieuw patroontje, ben ik meteen ook maar begonnen met de Sampler CM. Hier heb ik toch gekozen voor een dunnere katoenen draad en fijnere naalden.

Because I also like to wait for a sample each week, I started with the Sampler CM. I chose a 10 cotton thread and a 2 needle.

Ik heb al 4 samples af, je kan op de lineaal zien dat ik nog maar op 15 cm zit. Het weven is ook al bijna klaar, dus mijn taken voor april zijn eerst wel weer klaar, vind ik. hahahaha.

I've done 4 samples now: the ruler is in centimeters. (about 6 inches)
My weaving is almost finished, so I've done enough crafting for april, hahahaha.

Weven

Zo, het is net niet helemaal geworden zoals ik heb gehoopt, maar het lijkt geweldig. De achterkant is wel anders, aan de voorkant zie je het patroonverschil onder de zwarte draad niet zo goed. Het moet doorgaan voor een placemat.
It's not quite what I'd hope it would be, but it's great so far. The flipside is different because of the pattern, but on the front below the black yarn you don't see it.
It should pass as a placemat/coaster.

Entrelac sok is af.

Mijn entrelac sok, uit de HzG 139 is af! Eentje maar hoor, maar toch. Ik was er al bijna klaar mee, maar hij bleef de hele tijd maar liggen.

Hij lijkt enorm, maar ja, ik heb wel maatje 42... Hij past goed, en is lekker warm. Thanx voor Yvon, dank zij jouw beschrijving is het toch helemaal goed gekomen.

My entrelac sock from HzG 139 is finished!!!! Just the one. It lay around for a while, eventhough it was almost done. It looks huge, it issss. I'm a full 8 almost 9. It fits beautifully and is nice and warm. Thanx alot for Yvon, for her description in the magazine. It all worked out beautifully.

Print 'O The Wave

Zo, het eerste gedeelte is af van de Print 'O The Wave. Nu de andere helft er nog aan breien, en dan de rand nog. Het gaat nog wel even duren, vrees ik, want ik ben ook nog met de sampler bezig.

Het gaat eigenlijk best lekker, de ene in gewone katoen, de sampler in glanskatoen.

The first part of the Print 'O The Wave is finished. Now I have to knit the second part to the first one, and then knit the edging. It will take a while, because I'm also knitting the Sampler M. The knitting is not a struggle, in cotton.

Sampler Mmmmmmm

Wat breit dit lekker weg zeg. Die Sampler M heeft maar 40 st +2 kantst. Zo schiet het aardig op.

Ik ben dus net bezig met het 4e sample. Het gaat best lekker. Omdat bijna alle patroontjes al op de site staan, hoef ik ze alleen te printen, en kan ik er zo 2 of 3 op een avondje wegbreien. (pen 3, glanskatoen).

Sneeuwklokjes.

Het begint met de M, mijn letter, en dan is het eerste blok sneeuwklokjes, mijn bloem. Da's mooi, dus ik heb er een regel extra bij gemaakt.
Daarna komt de kabel en dan de rits. Vanavond komen daar de Romaanse bogen nog bij. Ik vind het tof.

Knitting the sampler M is very much a pleasurable thing to do. It starts out with my Letter M, then comes a sample of Snowdrops, my flower. Because I love it so, I knitted extra snowdrops. Then a sample of cables, a 'zipper' and then a sample of Roman Arches. Because there are only 40 st. and 2 extra it knits very quickly.
I just started last week, and on the site are all patterns available so I print them all and knit the night away...

Uithalen.

Ik zit weer effe op nul. Ik heb deze al 7 x!!!! uitgehaald, en ben weer op nieuw begonnen. Het wil gewoon niet. Zulk mooi garen, maar geen enkel idee wat ik er mee moet. Impuls aankoop hè, dan krijg je dat. Dom...

Back to basics. I've frogged (?) this seven times already. The yarn is just beautiful but I don't have any idea what to do with it. It was an impulse to buy it, and now I'm stuck with it.

Proeflapje

Voor de nieuwe opdracht van Angsoka denk ik er aan om iets voor de keuken te gaan weven. Het lijkt me leuk om voor elke opdracht een andere techniek te gebruiken. Mijn moeder heeft de wereld aan materiaal liggen. Van haar is dus ook dit weefraam. Begin jaren 80 van Handwerken zonder Grenzen. Wie wat bewaart, die heeft er later nog wat aan!

For the new assignment for Angsoka I'm thinking about something for the kitchen in weaving. I'd like to use a different technique for each month. My mother has the attick full of material, so I just have to ask... This is her loom. Early 80's loom that came with HzG.My mother has everything but the kitchensink.....

Ik ben me maar weer eens ergens gaan aanmelden. Toen ik in een paar vrije minuten mezelf toch al weer in de breiwinkel terugvond, op zoek naar draadjes voor opdracht April, was ik het 'zat'. Ik heb het rete druk, werk, kids en hobby-en. En nog niet genoeg.
Ritme en regelmaat helpt altijd. Dus flink opzoek op het internet, en ja hoor. SAMPLER M.
Net wat voor mij. Dus me aangemeld, en meteen maar een foto'tje er op geknald van mijn entrelac. Die heeft een leuk formaat, kan ik metéén verder. Ik hoef niet iedere week een te breien, het ene patroon kan ook langer dan het andere. Ik ga wel in wit verder.

I went out and got my self 'committed' again. To my own surprise, when I had some spare time, I found myself in the knittingstore. AGAIN. Searching for soms yarn for the April assignment. I was fed up. Up to my eyebrows in work, children and fun things to do. And still not satisfied.
Ritme and stability will do the trick, so surfed on the net and found my thing: SAMPLER M>

It's got my name all over it. So I joined and they accepted me. Thank god. hahahaaha.
As soon as I got in, placed a photo of my entrelac/Lady Eleanor. It's a good start, I will continue in white. I don't have to knit a sample every week, and things I like can be longer than they have to be. Now I can move on....

The real McCoy

Gister tot diep in de nacht zitten haken, omdat ik het zo leuk vond en niet kon stoppen. Ik ben begonnen met een klein rondje, en toen met stokjes omhoog gehaakt. Na een kleinstukje leek een wattenstaafje me wel handig als ondersteuning voor de vorm. Bovendien zijn de kop en de staart van de Libelle ook dikker dan het midden. Met perlon draad heb ik de vleugels gemaakt en met vasten omzoomd. De ogen zijn van pailletten. Als laatste de pin er onder vast gezet, en verzekerd met secondenlijm.

This is it! My dragonfly. Sat up till late last night because I was to infatuated by it. I couldn't stop. Started with a little circle, then built it up. Then I thought it would be firmer if a q tip was the support for the body. That, ánd the fact that the body shape of a dragonfly resembles the shape of the q tip. The eyes are made out of paillets. The wings out of perlonthread and trimmed with a single thread to shape the wings. To keep it in place the pin was attached and secured with superglue.

Nou, ik zal maar eens gaan beginnen met de opdracht van Angsoka knit a long voor maart.
Haaknaaldje 0,75 en zakdoekjes garen, matblauw en perlondraad voor de vleugels. Hoe ik die ga bevestigen weet ik nog niet. Ik begin bij de staart van de libelle.
Well, it's time to start with the assignment for March knit a long. A crochet needle point 75 and handkerchiefyarn. The perlonthread is for the wings, but how I'm gonna attach them I don't know yet.
